WAKE UP

WAKE UP is a project inspired by my recovery from a ligament injury, during which I reflected on the fast-paced, detached lifestyles prevalent in modern urban China. Rooted in Levinas’ philosophy of Existence and Existents and experimental research, the project explores physical actions like breathing, gazing, eating, and working as methods of rediscovering self-awareness and emotional perception. I categorized these into three types: eating, outdoor experiences, and self-exploration. Using clay as a medium, I recorded tactile sensations and collected data to design three future products that symbolize daily awakening rituals. This work encourages people to reconnect with their present state and regain a sense of self-existence in an increasingly materialistic world.
