FUTURE TAI CHI
Future Tai Chi is an interactive performance project exploring the relationship between breath, body movement, and energy flow in response to the growing prevalence of muscular atrophy in modern urban life. Drawing from Henri Lefebvre’s theory of spatial production and inspired by traditional Chinese Tai Chi fan dancing, I developed a new dance routine by combining elements from global group dances. Through body perception experiments, I investigated how breathing and movement shape our connection to space. The final performance integrates a lighting-breathing interactive system, featuring three distinct dance rhythms to highlight the interplay between movement frequencies and atmosphere.
